Meet Our Instructors:
Our Goals...

Safety, attentiveness and quality of instruction during sessions is our highest priority… and of course having our clients leave with a smile :)! Hold Harmless agreement to be signed at first lesson. Leasing is also available on one of our horses.
We prefer riders to have boots, jeans/leggings/breeches. Helmets are available for initial lessons and suggest investing in a helmet if the interest to continue riding is there. Below are some local places to get affordable riding gear for children and adults, including some used items on consignment!
Our lessons are an average of 45 minutes per lesson. We teach with a dressage premise, but will assess your position, effectiveness of aides and work on that with centered riding principles so that you are successful with a solid foundation for any discipline or riding style you choose! We can prep you for cross country, assist with jumping skills up to 3 ft and teach you how to school a horse through 2nd level dressage movements. Our instructors can be very flexible and are happy to work with your busy schedule to ensure you are able to enjoy a lesson, as often as you wish!
We feel riders deserve to be able to have a high quality lesson that is affordable, and our goal is to have riders become independent and able to troubleshoot for themselves. If we can get a rider to where they only need us once a
month or once every six months, then that is success! Not So Shady Acres is all about a fun, safe,
friendly environment, no matter what your goals are!
